In an age where voice assistants can play music, give directions, and define words, it’s no surprise that home lighting is becoming a leading use for this new category.

Philips Hue takes your lighting setup to the next level. By using your voice to ask Amazon Alexa, Apple Siri, or Google Assistant, you now have the means to control every light in your house without getting up.

Amazon Alexa

With Amazon Alexa, it’s ridiculously easy to control your lights with Hue. With simple phrases like “Alexa, turn on lights in the living room,” or “Alexa, turn living room to orange,” you can adjust the lights in any room with your voice.

You can also manipulate the white tones of your Hue lights by telling Alexa to make your bedroom warmer or cooler. By having complete control over the color temperature of your lights, you can match the lighting to your mood activity and create your desired ambiance.

Apple Siri

Pairing Hue with Siri is simple, giving you an unprecedented amount of customization with your lighting setup. Personalization is key when pairing Philips Hue with Apple HomeKit — you can actually go into the settings menu in Siri Voice Control and assign names to the lights in your house as well as give custom commands. So, instead of saying something like “turn off my overhead lights,” you can say “turn off my crib.” Pretty much guaranteed to impress.

Not only are Philips Hue voice commands a cool feature, but they can actually help improve your life altogether. By setting gradual light increments, you can wake up naturally in the morning — something you could never achieve with a typical lightbulb. During the evenings, you can use warm lights to help you unwind, relax, and ultimately fall asleep faster.

Google Assistant

When it comes to enjoying a hands-free lighting experience, Google Assistant is here to help. Whether you have Google Home, Pixel or any Android 2.0 device, Hue seamlessly connects to your setup for easy access to voice commands.

After simply connecting your Philips Hue Bridge to your router, try any command to see what your lights are capable of with voice commands. Through the simple command of “Ok, Google,” you can dim lights, set timers, and change the colors of your bulbs.

With so many options available through the power of your voice, all you have to do is pick the platform that works for you, connect your Hue and start talking. This is lighting 2.0.
