Gift bags come with a fetus figurine at the Republican convention
Delegates at the Republican convention are being given fetus figurines as part of their gift bag, according to journalists in Cleveland.
Alongside the usual swag, including hats and other small freebies, attendees are finding tiny rubber fetal models inside the bag.
The addition of the item was reported by The Post and Courier Thursday.

A journalist for the newspaper, Emma Dumain, tweeted a photo of a delegate gift bag Thursday, naming some of the contents inside which apparently included a "Make America Great Again" hat, some Kleenex and the fetus. Just what you've always wanted.

Dumain also tweeted a photo of a large plastic bag full of tiny plastic fetuses, which contained a slip of paper bearing the words: "Some people think that life begins at birth but my life's journey began long before I was born." Only one plastic fetus is given each gift bag, Dumain told Mashable over Twitter.

The Precious One figurine, as it's called, depicts a 11 to 14 week old fetus and is described by one distributor as "the most realistic fetal model ever developed." Its "beautiful detail, softness and weight can really move hearts and change minds," they added.
Mashable has reached out to the convention press office for clarification on how many fetus figurines have been given out.
The Republican party has a long and chequered history when it comes to reproductive rights.
In March this year, Donald Trump said women who have abortions should face "some sort of punishment," a statement that even the anti-abortion crowd in the party dismissed as "completely out of touch with the pro-life movement." Vice presidential candidate Mike Pence, meanwhile, has called for funerals for fetuses.
Journalists at the convention this week have also reported receiving glass tumblers and an optimistic tome entitled Crippled America in their bags.
