Eight professional Counter-Strike: Global Offensive teams faced off Friday for the ESL One Cologne quarterfinals, which gave us some entertaining matchups. There was the back and forth between Team Liquid and Natus Vincere, capped off with an unreal 1v3, as well as SK Gaming's calculated domination of Flipsid3 Tactics ending the second-to-last match with a last second win.

The quarterfinals of the tournament are over, setting up Virtus.Pro, SK Gaming, Team Liquid and Fnatic for the semifinals on Saturday. There were some heart-pumping moments throughout, and we rounded up some of top moments from Friday's play.

With a commanding lead in the third round between Team Liquid and Na'Vi, Liquid's S1mple set up a play against three opponents that showed exactly why he's one of the best CS:GO players in the world. He took out one Na'Vi player and threw a smoke grenade to screen his left flank, allowing him to advance and keep his sights in one direction.

S1mple grabbed a quick headshot for his second kill, alerting the third Na'Vi player to his presence. With a quick spin, S1mple locked onto Seized and mowed him down for the win, ending the match with only one hit point left. Close one.

With a dominating lead in the second round, Fnatic decided to stack itself with five AWP sniper rifles against Gambit Gaming. After laying down a smoke for cover, Gambit took some scattered shots and Olofmeister lined up a perfect, blind snipe through the smoke to really rub in the fact that Fnatic had complete control since the first match.
