Oh Courtney Barnett, how do we love you.

The Australian indie sensation hailing from the city of Melbourne smashed it on her debut on Saturday Night Live's season finale, while also helping Americans understand a bit of local slang.

If you've ever wondered what a "ute" or a "singlet" is, please allow Ms. Barnett to explain. She got down to basics with SNL cast member Bobby Moynihan in a behind-the-scenes video uploaded to the show's Facebook page.

You'll also find out what Crocodile Dundee a.k.a. Paul Hogan has been up to recently (just crying, apparently).

After pushing through the myriad of confused looks and hilarious questions Moynihan threw up -- "do you get mad when people say 'shrimp on the barbie' and stuff?" -- Barnett took to the SNL stage to perform.

Honouring a classic Australian TV ad with a "Life. Be in it." t-shirt, Barnett performed her tunes "Nobody Really Cares If You Don’t Go to the Party" and "Pedestrian At Best" from her debut album to the biggest U.S. audience of her career. And boy, did she ace it.

You can watch it here if you're luckily from the U.S., as for the rest of us who suffer with daily geo-blocking, enjoy the short snippet on Instagram.

Barnett's performance left the TV audience wanting more, with comparisons to early Nirvana and some calling it the best musical act on SNL in a long, long time. Oh, and also that Barnett should've taken that "Best New Artist" Grammy instead of Meghan Trainor. Tsk tsk.

Courtney Barnett: Conquering America, next up the world.
