Think of it as "fashionably late."

Better late than never, I guess.

Almost 25 years after its inception and more than a decade after Apple launched the App Store, Craigslist finally has an official iOS app. No, seriously, it's right there in the App Store. I'm looking at it with my eyes.

It's actually a little tricky to find in the App Store on iPhone right now because so many third-party alternatives have spent years building up SEO around the word Craigslist. Still, if you click the link above, you'll see that it indeed exists and appears to do everything you'd expect from a Craigslist mobile app.

You can place and respond to ads, search for listings under all the same categories you'd find on the Craigslist website, and set up alerts. It seems fairly clean and easy to use, and early reviews on the App Store are overwhelmingly positive, for what that's worth.

The internet's main home for classified ads has held out against making an official app for whatever reason until now. It makes a measure of sense when you consider that the Craigslist website has looked exactly the same for as long as any of us can remember. No reason to fix what isn't broken, right?

Anyway, this is good news for anyone who needs to sell furniture, find apartments, hunt for part-time work, or anything else that can be done on Craigslist. It also would have been good news a decade ago, but we'll take what we can get.
