Crash Bandicoot, the apple of one's eye for kids who grew up with a PlayStation, didn't really say much more than "woah!" in the game.

But in Netflix's new Skylanders Academy show, the Wumpa Islands resident has an Australian accent -- in a manner of speaking.

His dialogue's been compiled by YouTube user ARD and honestly, it's really terrible.

In fact, Crash's Aussie twang is the absolute worst thing you'll hear today.

Like so many international takes on the accent in years gone by, it keeps changing between Australian, American and some kind of "shine your shoes, Guvna" style of Dickens speak.

It's even worse that previous instances when he's spoken, like this promo video for Crash 2 which itself is not great.

And in this '90s commercial for the game, Crash doesn't even try to sound Australian -- berating the Nintendo headquarters with a megaphone with pure, unadulterated American flavour.

Where is the consistency?

Whatever Crash ends up sounding like next, those innocent days of "woah!" are no more.
