A dark 'Sabrina the Teenage Witch' TV show is in the works at The CW
Sabrina the teenage witch is about to get the sexy noir CW treatment.
The network that brought you Riverdale and Greg Berlanti's D.C. universe superhero shows will develop The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, a horror drama set in the Archie Comics universe.
The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina is a take on Sabrina the Teenage Witch that dives into the darkness of witchcraft and the occult. A press release described it as "tonally in the vein of Rosemary’s Baby and The Exorcist," so don't expect any pop star cameos in this iteration.
The series will be executive produced by writer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and director Lee Toland Krieger, as well as Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, and Jon Goldwater.
The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina will likely premiere in the 2018-2019 TV season.
