First lady Melania Trump is sticking to her campaign promise to crack down on online harassment and cyberbullying. She's reportedly meeting with major players in social media and tech next week to see what can be done.

Even though she's repeatedly let her husband get away with the very behavior she described during Donald Trump's campaign as "too mean and too rough," she is apparently still determined to make the internet a safer place. She'll meet with Amazon, Facebook, Google, Twitter, and Snap, according to the Washington Post.

The White House meeting, which also includes Microsoft, Internet Association, and other online groups, is supposed to take place next Wednesday. Melania Trump will ask the companies about plans to deal with harassment and trolls, according to the Washington Post.

At the UN General Assembly last year, she spoke about online safety and emphasized that "we must teach each child the values of empathy and communication."

Let's not forget that many of these company have been struggling with how to deal with abusive content on its platforms, including Twitter abuse coming in after the Parkland school shooting and Google's YouTube targeting kids with violent, offensive videos.

We reached out for comment at the various companies supposedly meeting with the first lady. A spokesperson from Twitter deferred comment to the Office of the First Lady.

Melania Trump's office did not respond to a request for confirmation about the meeting.
