Here's a tip: The next time someone drags you to a movie you don't want to see, live-tweet it.

Gerry McBride, a dad and comedian from Dublin, Ireland, chose the live-tweet coping method when he took his 3-year-old son to see Finding Dory, and it was pretty hilarious.

Even though McBride posted the tweets after he got home from the movie, all of us reading on Twitter felt like we were in the theater with him.

The idea to chronicle his time at the movie came easily to McBride. "I'm a comedy writer by trade so I just write stuff like this all the time," McBride told Mashable by email.

Warning: spoilers ahead.

If you're thinking, "Didn't Finding Dory come out like four months ago?" you're not wrong. McBride was taking advantage of a discount.

McBride actually made some pretty truthful observations about Finding Dory.

He really let himself experience the emotional turmoil that the characters faced.

He was especially interested in Idris Elba's character, although according to McBride, it's "Hidris Helba."

"That's how he pronounces it himself," McBride explained.

He even touched on social justice:

As the movie neared the end, his kid started acting up.

McBride decided to forfeit the rest of the film.

"[There's been a] great reaction from parents who seem to have shared the pain of bringing kids to the cinema!" McBride told Mashable.

"I think kids these days have such a good grasp of YouTube and watching stuff online that the notion of watching something that's two hours long is baffling to them."
