It's a year until Brexit's meant to happen (and the transition period begins) and one publication's cover has been relentlessly mocked for its celebration of that fact.

The Daily Express front cover on Thursday featured the white cliffs of Dover, intended to inspire a feeling of patriotism and hope.

However, the imagery inadvertently gave the Brexit-sceptic Twittersphere some serious ammunition.

The photographer who took the photo of the cliffs had yet further mockery to heap on the Daily Express.

Don't want no mossy-as cliffs when you're trying to make a point about how glorious Brexit is!
