'Go knock someone up in Texas': 'Daily Show' draws criticism with abortion ruling tweet

Lots of people didn't think it was funny.

The Daily Show, like many other organizations and people on the Internet, wanted to celebrate Monday's Supreme Court decision to strike down a Texas law that would likely have shuttered many of the state's abortion clinics.

But the way they chose to celebrate came off, to many, like a terrible wedding toast.

Many felt the tweet made light of abortion. 




Others also saw the tweet as directed at men on a day they felt should celebrate women.


The show's account later tweeted an apology.
