LONDON -- If the Pokémon franchise has taught us anything at all, it's that you've gotta catch 'em all. Also (despite the original insistence that there were only 150 known types of Pokémon) new breeds are being discovered all the time.

Well, splendid news: UK-based cartoonist Dan Martin has gone and found 30 more.

The following "next generation of Pokémon" were shared by Martin on his Deathbulge site earlier in the week. He also posted his designs on Twitter and Facebook, where they quickly went viral.

"Coming up with evolution stages for Pokémon was always a fun activity growing up," Martin told Mashable

"I loved the process of drawing monsters and then using those drawings as a basis for designing their later, more evolved forms. Same goes for RPG final bosses. I guess It was only a matter of time before I applied this to a Deathbulge comic. Funnily enough I'd been sitting on this idea for a while and the Pokémon starter reveal for Sun and Moon didn't happen until a couple days after I started drawing the 'new' Pokémon, so I really lucked out with the timing."

Martin said the comic was by far the most successful he's ever posted. "It's been amazing seeing all the comments from people finding it so funny. In fact there's already been some fan art of Fullenglish and Quakstak! As you can probably imagine, I have been smiling a lot since posting the comic."

The big question now, of course, is if there are any more undiscovered species in the pipeline.

"Due to the incredible reception I can't help but wonder about doing more, but they'd have to be at least as good as the first lot!" Martin said.

"Also at this stage I'm pretty much set on including some these monsters in the RPG game that I am currently developing with a couple of programmer friends of mine. Though maybe not as enemies; I just couldn't let people hurt Quakstak."
