The mother of a British Olympic bronze medalist has blasted newspapers' coverage for obliterating his son's win in favour of his synchronised diving's partner.

Thomas Daley and Daniel Goodfellow won bronze in the men's 10m platform event in Rio, but many UK papers led with an image of Daley alone.

The Times identified Goodfellow as Daley's "synchronised partner" while The Daily Mail cropped him out of the story and titled "Tom's leap to Olympic joy."

The Daily Telegraph and the Daily Express also inexplicably snubbed Goodfellow in their front covers.

Goodfellow's mother took to Twitter to express her disappointment.

She responded to Nick Sutton, editor of the BBC News website, that she was “very surprised” by the Telegraph’s front page:

In another reply she said: "Just done my first bit of media bashing. How insensitive! I hope they sort before morning."

Goodfellow was unfazed by the lack of coverage and tweeted that winning the bronze medal was a "dream come true":
