Harry Potter and the gender wage gap.

Daniel Radcliffe recently admitted in an interview with Australia's The Daily Telegraph that he didn't know that wage disparity was still such issue in Hollywood -- until he read Jennifer Lawrence's essay in Lenny Letter.

"I’m incredibly glad [gender equality] has come up," Radcliffe said, "because I had just fucking naively thought this was not an issue anymore because how can this still be happening?”

In an op-ed Lawrence penned last October, she discussed working on American Hustle and being paid less than her male co-stars -- and the struggle she felt fighting for equality on set.

Radcliffe says his eyes were opened to ugly truth after learning about Lawrence's experiences.

"The thing I can’t help but think is: ‘Who? Who’s doing that? What guy is sitting in a studio somewhere thinking, ‘Let’s fuck the girls out of some money?'" Radcliffe said.

He applauds movies like Mad Max: Fury Road for making strides in developing roles for women, but says Hollywood still needs to "step up."

“It’s very cool, and I feel like there’s such a wealth of amazing actresses in the world right now, and we’ve got to start writing better parts for them and paying them equally," he said.

And somewhere, Hermio-err Emma Watson starts smiling.
