A new Dashboard Confessional song is here, filled with early 2000s nostalgia

Twenty-four hours after Blink-182 released a new song -- if that's what you want to call this -- Dashboard Confessional's Chris Carrabba has new song too.

Unlike "Built This Pool," however, "May" lasts longer than 14 seconds. The acoustic track finds Carrabba in familiar lovestruck territory.

"Every day you pull me just a litter closer to you/ 'Cause you're a dream and I'm a dreamer/ May, I've got a ring and it's fit for your finger," he sings with that longing we heard on "Stolen."

Carrabba talked to Entertainment Weekly earlier this month about the new Dashboard music he's working on. 

“I don’t have any idea of a release date or a worry about one for that matter,” he says. “But I’m really excited to be doing it because I don’t think it’s ever felt this much like the beginning again.”

Dashboard's last album, Alter the Ending, was released in 2009.
