Some of the biggest names in the finance world are reportedly scrambling to uncover if — or how many — of their clients have been affected by a data breach.

SitusAMC, a company that provides tech for a number of finance firms, announced over the weekend that it had suffered a data breach.

"We have confirmed that certain of our clients’ data was impacted," the company wrote in a statement. "Corporate data associated with some of our clients’ relationship with SitusAMC such as accounting records and legal agreements has been impacted. The scope, nature and extent of such impact remains under investigation by the Company and its third-party advisors."

CNN reported that SitusAMC notified a number of major institutions, including JPMorgan Chase and Citi, that their data had been affected by the cyberattack. It remains unclear how many consumers or how much data might have been affected. The FBI has said it was aware of the breach but had not identified any resulting issues with banking services.
