Dave Chappelle takes back what he said about Donald Trump

"I fucked up. Sorry."

Life comes at you fast, and it seems everyone has learned that the hard way since November 2016, including Dave Chappelle.

Following the presidential election that put Donald Trump in the White House, Chappelle hosted Saturday Night Live with a politically-loaded monologue that goaded the election results. But according to a speech the comedian gave this week at the Robin Hood gala, there's one sentence Chappelle uttered back then that he realizes he'd like to take back.

“I’m wishing Donald Trump luck,” Chappelle had said on SNL. “And I’m going to give him a chance. And we the historically disenfranchised demand that he gives us one too.”

On Monday night, the comedian sang a very different tune.

"I was the first guy on TV to say 'Give Trump a chance,'" Chappelle reportedly said, according to tweets from attendees. "I fucked up. Sorry."

You can relive Chappelle's SNL moment below — just close your ears when it gets to that one line.
