David Bowie never leaves you, especially if you've had the otherworldly experience of working alongside him. So the band behind Blackstar, his last studio album, led by jazz saxophonist Donny McCaslin, are releasing their own album in tribute to their late, great hero.

Listen to Beyond Now a week ahead its release on Oct. 14. The album gets its title from an unreleased song from the Blackstar sessions and features two Bowie covers and original songs inspired by their time working with him.

Three more musicians -- bassist Tim Lefebvre, drummer Mark Guiliana and Jason Lindner -- who also performed on Blackstar appear on Beyond Now.

The band puts their spin Bowie's "Warszawa" and "A Small Plot of Land" and also covers Deadmau5, Mutemath and even the Chainsmokers alongside some original compositions. The energetic opening track, "Shake Loose," was inspired by the divine experience of listening to Kendrick Lamar with Bowie.

The ensemble's unreleased work with Bowie will appear on the Lazarus cast recording out Oct. 21.

The album is currently available for pre-order on iTunes and Amazon.
