David Cameron says he watches Glastonbury on TV 'in front of a warm fire'

LONDON -- David Cameron's task to look cool with a younger audience took a bizarre/literal turn when he said that he likes to watch the Glastonbury music festival on TV "in front of a warm fire."

Yes, you got it right.

Asked by a student why Britain is holding the UK's referendum on European Union membership on the second day of Glastonbury, he replied: 

"I always like watching it from the safety of my television at home, in front of a, er, warm fire."

Then, he advised the student to apply for a postal vote and go to the festival. 

Cameron's apparent habit of lighting a fire in the middle of the summer immediately caught the imagination of netizens on Twitter:




The decision to set June 23 as the date for the EU referendum didn't go down well with festivalgoers when it was announced.
