David Dastmalchian is no stranger to playing serial killers, from Kyle Slade in Syfy's 12 Monkeys series to real-life murderer Albert DeSalvo in Boston Strangler. But according to Dastmalchian, his new role in Showtime's Dexter: Resurrection "is the most fun I've ever gotten to have portraying a serial killer."

In an episode of Mashable's Say More interview series, Dastmalchian teased what Dexter: Resurrection viewers could expect from his murderous character, Gareth.

"His serial killer moniker is 'the Gemini Killer,'" Dastmalchian explained. "I don't know if you're a zodiac person or if you're into astrology, but Gemini is all about duality, and [Gareth] murders people in a very specific way — sometimes multiple people in a specific way, and it's rather gruesome and it's rather horrific."

Gareth is one of the many new antagonists Dexter Morgan (Michael C. Hall) will face off against in Dexter: Resurrection, a list that also includes characters played by Peter Dinklage and Uma Thurman. But according to Dastmalchian, there are a few things that separate Gareth from the serial-killing crowd.

"I'm very proud to say that Gareth is the number one most wanted FBI murderer, and is the first person that's going to have a power — I'll call it a secret power — that will make life very challenging for Dexter Morgan in a way that hasn't happened on the show before," Dastmalchian said.

He continued: "For me, it was this great acting challenge because — it's a bit of a spoiler that I don't want to give away. But when you tune in and you get to the point where you realize what is actually going on with Gareth, I like to think that your mind might be blown."
