Indian music fans are angry as DJ David Guetta's concert in Bangalore has been called off at the eleventh hour.

The organizers have cited security concerns following an incident on New Year's Eve in the city where many women were harassed.

The proceeds of the gig #Guetta4Good, part of the ongoing Sunburn Music Festival, were to go to a charity that works with underprivileged children.

Merely a few hours before the scheduled time, the festival organizers released a statement via a tweet, which was later deleted.

The announcement came as a surprise, since the build-up to the event had been palpable. Even half a day ago.

Fans, who'd been eagerly waiting for a powerhouse performance from the French DJ, lashed out at the organizers for the last-minute alteration.

However, news agency ANI reported that the concert had merely been rescheduled to another date that is yet to be announced.

Some claim that the Bangalore Police are only buying some time to tighten security arrangements.

There is no official word on this yet. Mashable has reached out to Sunburn for a comment.

Guetta, meanwhile, is slated to perform in Mumbai tomorrow.
