David Ortiz does legendary baseball thing, drops even more legendary quote
David Ortiz hit a baseball so hard during a Boston Red Sox batting practice that the ball got stuck in a Fenway Park foul pole.
But this is David Ortiz we're dealing with here, so that's only half the story. His explanation is even better.
Pesky's Pole is the nickname Boston fans use for the right-field foul pole at Fenway. Ortiz, the Red Sox legend playing his 20th and final MLB season, blasted a batting practice pitch into right on Thursday.

That's legendary. But even more legendary was the 40-year-old Ortiz's explanation for it all.
"You're only going to see a bad (expletive) like me doing that," Ortiz said later, while leaving the field, per MassLive.com."You have to hit the (expletive) out of the ball for that (expletive) to happen."
I'm not a physicist and never played pro ball, but you do indeed have hit the (expletive) out of the ball for that (expletive) to happen.
Now here are a couple more looks at the novelty.
We'll miss David Ortiz when he's gone. One more season, buddy?
