The Bollywood song in 'Deadpool 2' gave me the purest joy
A small subsection of Deadpool 2 viewers (or a significant chunk, if you're seeing it in India) got a special Easter egg during the film, in the form of a popular Hindi song that played in Dopinder's (Karan Soni) cab in the second act.
We know that Dopinder loves to play Bollywood music in his taxi, as evidenced in the first film when he jammed to the oldie "Mera Joota Hai Japani."
The song in question is "Yun Hi Chala Chalrahi" from the 2004 film Swades, with music by Oscar-winner A.R. Rahman.

The scene involves Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds), Domino (Zazie Beetz), and Cable (Josh Brolin) discussing tactics or something while Dopinder drives them to Russell's (Julian Dennison) old orphanage. Cable asks Dopinder to turn off the music, which prompts Deadpool to call him racist.
Honestly, I don't know much more than that, because as soon as I heard a Bollywood song I know, I got too excited and tuned out!

Interestingly, this isn't the first time a Swades song made it into a Hollywood flick. The film's theme makes an appearance in 2008's Slumdog Millionaire (also composed by Rahman) as Salim's (Madhur Mittal) ringtone.
Both songs are owned by T-Series, who is credited along with the composer, singers, and album in the Deadpool 2 credits.
Getting the rights for Bollywood songs isn't always easy from across the pond; the versions that appear on reality shows or as background to shows that insist on doing dance numbers are often remixed if not invented tracks to which American publishers own the rights. Swades might be an exception – beyond that, there's no particular reason that this song would appear in Deadpool 2 more than others.

A clever choice would have been a song from a Ranveer Singh movie, since the actor provides Deadpool's voice in the film's Hindi-dub. But the song may have been chosen before Singh was even cast, and who knows if the rights would be attainable (he has a few films with T-Series albums, including at least one banger).
Deadpool 2 is now in theaters.
