'Deadpool 2' pop-up bars will let you feast on chimichangas and... pizza?
Sister Margaret's School for Wayward Children is hitting the road.
Movie Deadpool's bar of choice is getting the pop-up treatment ahead of Deadpool 2 hitting theaters next month (h/t The Hollywood Reporter). It's coming to New York and Los Angeles only, but honestly, LA gets the better deal here.
The New York engagement will happen first, with the pop-up appearing at the Alligator Lounge in Brooklyn from April 26-28. Attendees -- who must be 21 or older, obviously -- will be treated to free pizza.
Here's where the NY side of this deal gets lame: Alligator Lounge already serves free slices with every drink. Sure, pizza is a New York thing. But it's not really a Deadpool thing. It's a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles thing.
The LA pop-up, on the other hand, is happening at Slipper Clutch from May 10-12. Attending that one will get you free chimichangas, which is one of Deadpool's preferred menu items. Proceeds will also benefit the DTLA Film Festival, which is co-hosting the event.
So not only are you doing a good deed by hitting up the LA pop-up, you're also getting a Deadpool food favorite. The Alligator Lounge pop-up feels positively half-assed by comparison, and I say this as a native New Yorker who usually carries a lot of anti-LA bias.
Both events will be co-sponsored by Fox and Mike's Harder, and both will feature contests that offer attendees a chance to attend the Deadpool 2 premiere.
Deadpool 2 opens on May 18.
