Like any customer service job, food delivery is fraught with the awkwardness that can only come from interacting with other human beings constantly.

But some of these Deliveroo drivers have extra odd tales to tell.

22-year-old rider Shafiq said he was making a delivery, when he was approached by a woman to ask if he could help her with her makeup.

"As if I had any skills with makeup...I got saved by a new order and dashed out the door," he said.

Turns out, plenty of other Deliveroo riders have had their fair share of weird encounters. Here are some of the best told to Mashable.

Double delivery

“On my way to deliver an order, I came across a kid that appeared to be lost. I picked him up and asked him to show me where his house is," said Gabriel.

"The house ended up being where I was making the food delivery to! The kid’s mom was very happy with both deliveries.”

Friendly customers

"I picked up an order of eight pizzas and was told to deliver to a condominium [complex], straight to their karaoke room," said Edica.

"When I reached the destination, I was greeted by a very jubilant guy. He and his friends even invited me in to sing a few songs and have some drinks!"

Even friendlier customers

“Once a customer answered the door completely naked!” Prakash said.

No monkeying around

“I was making a delivery and an entire pack of monkeys started following me!” said Sharif.

Free booze

"A customer gave me a great (yet surprising) tip once -- a bottle of wine wrapped with two $5 notes!” revealed Ming.

Now that, we can get on board with.
