Demi Lovato gives Twitter and Instagram a break to avoid trolls

Demi Lovato has had enough of social media. 

In a string of tweets Monday afternoon, the singer expressed her frustration over seeing what people had to say about her online and said she's taking a break from Twitter and Instagram.

It's unclear what triggered the departure, but she also said farewell to Instagram. But don't worry, you can still catch updates of the "Confident" singer on Snapchat. 


"That one time I started by own charity providing mental health care for people who can't afford it and this is what y'all talk about?," Lovato tweeted, referring to The Lovato Treatment Scholarship, a fan pointed out. She has been open about her experiences with depression and bipolar disorder throughout the past few years.

The outspoken singer has previously stirred up drama with fellow celebrities like Nicki Minaj and Taylor Swift on social media.
