The circus has arrived.

Johnny Depp and Amber Heard have made an appearance at the usually humdrum suburb of Southport in Queensland, Australia to face court on Monday morning.

In May last year, Depp and Heard were caught sneaking their two Yorkshire Terriers, Pistol and Boo, into the country and now they are facing the music.

In what is probably the highest profile case in Southport Magistrates Court history, Depp and Heard battled an epic scrum of cameras and reporters along with a flurry of people resembling the paparazzi of Rodeo Drive.

The courthouse was also overrun with dozens of obsessive Johnny Depp fans hoping to score a Jack Sparrow selfie, an autograph or to gift him with a handmade card featuring a photo of a dog.

Despite the supposed seriousness of the charges, the star factor turned the case into quite the show. As cameramen pushed and shoved in the scrum, celebrity worshippers waited in the wings hoping for a rare encounter with the Hollywood stars. It was just like a movie premiere but with magistrates.

Here are some of the wild and wacky people that showed up at Southport's trial of the century.

Jeni Sherman made a card -- with a dog on the front -- as part of her unwavering support for the couple in trouble.

She also brought along her 10-year-old chihuahua Tia, as she understands Pistol and Boo's plight.

Carole from Ipswich brought a drawing of Jack Sparrow for Depp to sign.

Actually, she brought an entire book.

This couple got married, amid the drama unfolding inside

Esra Arslan and her new husband Jarrad Nicoll told MyGC that they weren't massive fans of Depp and wouldn't be waiting outside the court. "We have other things planned," Nicoll told the publication. Not sure what could be more important than this, Jarrad.

Dozens more desperate fans lined up to catch just a glimpse of their heroes.

Even the police were excited for the Hollywood experience.

Missing: Barnaby Joyce, the Australian politician who promised to murder Pistol and Boo, was absent from the pandemonium.

We told you it was a circus. If only they brought the dogs.

UPDATE: April 18, 2016, 2:54 p.m. AEST Amber Heard has been sentenced to a A$1000 good behaviour bond, with no conviction recorded, according to the Courier-Mail.
