Who would have thought a trailer for a new Pokémon movie could be so divisive?
On Monday, the first trailer for a Ryan Reynolds-voiced Detective Pikachu movie dropped. At the time of writing the trailer has almost 12,000,000 views and over 475,000 likes on YouTube.
It hasn't all been plain sailing, though. There have been plenty of reactions on social media, and not all of them are from excited fans eager to see their favourite electric mouse fight crime.
The point of contention? Nope, it isn't the fact that Pikachu has the voice of a 42-year-old man. It's the aesthetic appearance of everyone's favourite pink puffball:
