Diana Ross is adding another illustrious award to her long list

The legendary Diana Ross has seven American Music Awards to her name but this year, she'll be adding one very important one to the shelf.

Ross will be receiving the American Music Award for Lifetime Achievement as announced by ABC on Wednesday.

“I have endless memories of all the years that I have appeared on the American Music Awards. It started with Dick Clark and The Caravan of Stars and American Bandstand," Ross said in a statement.

"It was Dick Clark who said, ‘Music is the soundtrack of our lives.’ So true," she continued. "I am so excited to be receiving this honorable award.”

Ross will be performing at the awards show this year, so to prepare, we'll be rewatching all of her mythical Central Park show from 1983.

Whitney Houston, Prince, Paul McCartney, and more have all won the prestigious award in the past.
