It's not a happy ending for many employees of soon-to-be closed Australian electronics chain Dick Smith, but at least one employee can still find some humour.

The end of the once iconic brand is near, with all Dick Smith stores to be closed by around the end of April, according to receivers Ferrier Hodgson. Its slow, painful demise is being chronicled in a dire Reddit thread.

The best of the thread is an employee in a store at Glen Waverley, Victoria, who posted an amusing sign featuring a DVD of Jobs, the biopic about Steve Jobs featuring Ashton Kutcher, with a snarky statement: "Looking for Jobs? We are too!!!"

Uploaded by exaei on Reddit Wednesday, it's a small bit of humour, albeit depressing, within the gloominess of it all.

It wouldn't be a surprising if they got the idea from staff at this other unidentified Dick Smith store a few weeks back. The staff at this store are clearly over the stupid questions from bargain-hunting customers about when they're closing. THEY DON'T KNOW WHEN THEY ARE CLOSING. When they close, you will know because the door will be closed.

If you don't have a job recommendation, best keep your mouth closed.
