'Die Hard' screenwriter confirms that it is, in fact, a Christmas movie, as if there was ever any doubt
You can finally settle that never-ending debate around your Christmas dinner table, once and for all: Die Hard is definitely a Christmas movie.
Or at least that's what the classic action movie's writer says.
When CNN's Jake Tapper asked screenwriter Steven E. de Souza about it on Twitter, he confirmed that he sees Die Hard as a Christmas flick, right down to the fact that "a woman about to give birth features prominently."

De Souza even gave a nod to all of us fellow Jews out here on Christmas, joking that the studio wouldn't accept his original "Purim draft" of the movie that made Bruce Willis into the icon he is and gave Alan Rickman his first movie role.
For his part, de Souza seems to be very into the idea of Die Hard as a Christmas movie, even going so far as to post a photo dressed up as a walking reference to the film complete with bare feet and "ho-ho-ho" sweater.
He even goes so far as to wear a Pacific Courier hat, the made-up company featured on the truck the thieves drove into the garage as they set about their siege of Nakatomi Plaza.

As far as we're concerned, Die Hard has always been a Christmas movie.
Yippee-ki-yay indeed.
