Who needs an Emmy when you can have a meaningless award issued by our slightly unhinged, wannabe authoritarian president?

Both Stephen Colbert and Trevor Noah would proudly take the latter. The Daily Show and Late Night with Stephen Colbert launched their campaigns yesterday for the "MOST DISHONEST AND CORRUPT MEDIA AWARDS OF THE YEAR" President Trump is holding Monday, so help us God.

Trump announced the "MOST DISHONEST AND CORRUPT MEDIA AWARDS OF THE YEAR" on Twitter this past Tuesday, shortly after bragging about the girth of his nuclear button. The story got kinda of lost in the whole upcoming nuclear holocaust shebang, but both Colbert and Noah were paying attention.

Yesterday, Stephen Colbert even took out a billboard in Times Square announcing his interest in the MOST DISHONEST AND CORRUPT MEDIA AWARDS.

Both are strong contenders for the award, but others are skeptical that any real trophies will be distributed at all. Jimmy Kimmel said it best Wednesday night:

"‘The stupid people’s choice awards’ is what they’re calling it. This is a real dilemma for the president because on one hand, you know, he loves awards and trophies. But will he be physically able to give a trophy to someone other than himself? I don’t think so."

Mashable is also in the running for "Best Lyin' in Tech and Culture," so please let your voices be heard!
