Sneaky sandbox game 'Dishonored 2' comes out in November
Save the date, stealth fans: Dishonored 2 arrives on Nov. 11.
We don't know much else about Arkane Studios' return to the steampunk-gothic fantasy universe that was so lovingly fleshed out in the 2012 original. Expect new powers, new spaces to sneak around in and new ways to murder people that deserve it.

Dishonored protagonist Corvo Attano returns as a playable character, though players choose at the start of the game between him and Empress Emily Kaldwin. Each character brings a different set of tools to bear on the game's play-the-way-you-like settings.
Dishonored impressed in 2012 with its emphasis on open-ended puzzle solving. You could only unlock a handful of Corvo's many abilities during any given playthrough, and each choice heavily informed how you could tackle a given challenge.
For example, players that invested in Corvo's "Blink" ability could teleport freely for short distances, making it easy to sneak around on rooftops and in other hard-to-reach locations. Forgoing Blink in favor of, say, a more combat-oriented ability favored taking a more direct approach in certain situations.
All signs so far suggest that Dishonored 2 doubles down on that thinking, giving Corvo and Emily unique ability trees that, again, can't be fully unlocked during a single playthrough.
Dishonored 2 is the focus of a cover story in the May issue of Game Informer, so look for more details there. The first look at gameplay won't be coming until Bethesda's pre-E3 press conference, which will be livestreamed via Twitch and YouTube at 7 p.m. PT on June 12.
