See a college football player (Jay Reeves) triumph over a series of personal and athletic challenges in Safety. And follow a jazz musician's journey through a fantastical dimension while he discovers the meaning of life in Pixar's Soul.

Need some new TV? Check out On Pointe, the six-part docuseries on the dancers at the School of American Ballet in New York City. Or celebrate the season with the song-filled High School Musical: The Musical: The Holiday Special. Top Pick: Soul

Pixar's Soul is headed to Disney+ this Christmas.

Directed by Pete Docter (Up, Inside Out), the animated comedy follows a middle-school band teacher (Jamie Foxx), Joe, who gets the opportunity to follow his dreams and play at the snazziest jazz club around — that is, until he falls through a New York City manhole and is transported to The Great Before. Here, in this fantastical place where souls are given personalities before they enter the earth, he tries to show the disinterested soul 22 (Tina Fey) why life is so great.

The trailer's crisp visuals and spirited tone have us excited for more. And with all the critic reviews coming in positive so far, we're hopeful that it'll make the holidays a little bit brighter.
