Tokyo Disney Resort was hit by a powerful lightning strike on Tuesday at about noon, resulting in a sweeping outage across its theme parks.

The resort complex comprises two theme parks, Disneyland and DisneySea. It appears the park went silent, as many attractions ground to a halt and other landscape features such as fountains and music speakers stopped.

No one was injured, but at 2 p.m., many of the park's rides were not resumed yet, reports the Asahi Shimbun.

People there started posting sad pictures of the gloomy weather, with some looking forlornly at the still rides. Some on Twitter described confusion at the park, while visitors within darkened halls were escorted out.

We've reached out to Disneyland for more information.
