We all knew they were coming, and sure enough the inevitable meme costumes were busted out this All Hallow's Eve.

The apparent winner for this year is the "distracted boyfriend" meme. The example below racked up over 7000 retweets and was made into a Twitter moment.

Plenty of people were impressed.

The obvious problem with this incarnation of the meme is it requires all three participants to stand in the right positioning for the tableau -- not ideal for moving about.

One girl found a way to rock the meme-look solo.

Taking accuracy to new levels (Noice! Smort!)

Then things got real meta real fast.

But not everyone appreciated the real-life memeage.

Okay everyone calm down. This time next year "distracted boyfriend" will be in the Internet vaults along with 'I can haz cheezburger' and Gangnam Style, so let's just enjoy it while it lasts.
