The funniest cameo from director Sam Raimi's Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is coming to Disney+ on June 22 (along with the rest of the movie, of course). For Raimi, the filmmaker behind the Tobey Maguire spider-verse, it was an opportunity for him "to go full tilt and shake up the standards the MCU machine had built," as Mashable critic Kristy Puchko wrote in her review.
For those versed in the language of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is absolutely a step in a different direction. Raimi's creative vision comes to life in this madcap adventure that fuses action, comedy, and horror into a story about magical zombies, parallel universes, and expectation-shattering references to all the many different corners of Marvel lore.
