When a dog wreaks havoc on your wardrobe, it helps to have a blacksmith around.

Alan Padzinski returned home from his workshop one day to find his girlfriend mourning a pair of destroyed $500 heels — heels unfairly targeted by their remorseless pup, Caliph.

Padzinski was able to repair the hole with a leather patch, but the heels still didn't look so hot. (Caliph, this wasn't your best day.) So, with the help of his trusty precision hammer, he decided to give the kicks a badass metal makeover.

First, he covered the damaged heels with stainless steel plates and thin coats of brass.

Lots better, right? Well, Padzinski wasn't done. He also repainted the shoes black (the most badass of colors) — then added a removable "decorative sharp part."

Result: the coolest knife shoes the world has ever seen.

"Cheers for practical design," he wrote.

We'll say. Not only are these shoes gorgeous (and shiny), but they've done what few shoes can hope to do: turn a tragedy into a very fashionable miracle.

At the time of this writing, canine culprit Caliph appeared to show no remorse.

You lucked out this time, Caliph.
