This *very good* dog stole a cricket ball in the middle of a big match

Look at that pep, that enthusiasm. This pup is loving life.

You don't need to understand cricket to appreciate the playful antics of a good dog who just wants to play ball.

That exact scene unfolded on Saturday during a match-up between the Civil Service North of Ireland (CSNI) Cricket Club and the Bready Cricket Club. The two were facing off in the semi-finals round of the women's Clear Currency All-Ireland T20 Cup when... this magical moment occurred.

I may not know a single, solitary thing about how cricket works, but I do know dogs. I know them very well. And this dog right here is absolutely loving life.

Look at that pep. Look at that enthusiasm. Look at that dragging leash. This lovable pup was so overcome with excitement that they broke free of their human caretaker's grip and sprinted onto the cricket pitch with only one care in the entire world: Gotta get that ball!!

Dogs interrupting serious moments is a genre of internet video that will never get old. Thank you to Ireland Women's Cricket for blessing us all with this delightful clip, and for maintaining a good sense of humor toward this "small furry pitch invader."
