Commutes can often be the worst part of your day, especially if you use public transportation. It's crowded, everyone is still half asleep, and it almost always smells weird. I'm looking at you, NJTransit.

However, any awful train ride can be turned around in an instant by spotting a good boy on the subway.

You may notice that there are more than a normal amount of bag dogs. There are some cities, like NYC, that have laws against dogs riding the subway unless they are contained in a container, like a bag for instance. However, this doesn't stop city dwellers from taking their dogs on the train, they just got creative.

Here are 14 of the best train dogs we could find:

1. The face of misery

This dog looks like he's trying to not be swallowed alive by that bag.

2. The absolute unit

He deserves his own seat.

3. Pooped pooch

He just got finished with an 80 hour work week.

4. Doggy bag

Putting that Ikea bag to good use.

5. Backpack buddy

Why walk when you can be carried around?

6. Winter weather ready

This dog is ready to weather the storm with little booties and a warm jacket.

7. Puppy princess

Poised like a marble lion we'd like to put outside of our future mansion.

8. Baby stroller

Dogs being driven around like babies never fails to make us laugh.

9. Ride along

If your dog doesn't fit in a normal sized backpack, you'll have to upgrade to a hiker's rucksack like this guy.

10. Lip smackin' lattes

We make the same face when we see our morning coffee.

11. Cookie craver

This perked up pooch clearly wanted to snag some of that snack.

12. Waiting for the weekend

Boris looks like he just wanted to go home and crack open a new chew toy with the boys.

13. Purse pooch

When your purse matches your fur perfectly.

14. Dog on a journey

This precious pup looks like she's about to head out on a fantastic adventure.
