The Dolly Parton/Adele friendship is real, folks.

On Tuesday, Adele got dressed up and paid tribute to the legendary country singer in a cheery Twitter post.

"The effortless Queen of song, Dolly Parton!" she wrote. "We love you! We wish we could possess an ounce of your ability. You were the hero of our night! The hero of my life. I'll always love you."

Well, on Wednesday, Parton responded.

And she even filmed her own video message, too.

"I was really touched with what you said," says Parton in the clip above. "I was really honoured that you would even know me that well or like my music, so I just wanted to thank you and say you're making me look good.

"So if I can have just a fraction of your fans that'll help me! Help me buy some cheaper wigs and some more clothes and some more things. I'm gonna dress like you next time. I love you."

Twitter was overjoyed.

That duet needs to happen.
