Donald Trump has succeeded in his promise to make America Budweiser again.

The presumptive Republican presidential nominee took some credit on Wednesday during a phone call on Fox News for inspiring Budweiser to change the name of its beer to America for the summer.

“I think so," Trump said in an interview with Fox & Friends when asked whether he thought he had "something to do" with the name change. "They’re so impressed with what our country will become that they decided to do this before the fact."

Left unsaid: that the company behind Budweiser is now owned by a Belgian corporation trying to make a shameless appeal to thirsty Americans.

Perhaps Trump's tongue-in-cheek support of the Budweiser branding move hints at his own ambitions for the country: Make America a brand again.

Trump is fond of sticking his name on everything. So why not do the same for America?
