Donald Trump finally admitted that Joe Biden won the 2020 presidential election. Well, sort of.

On Sunday morning, Trump began a tweet with the words "He won..." referring to Biden. The two words might not seem like much, especially since they were followed by more baseless, inaccurate claims about voter fraud and a rigged election. But after weeks of Trump repeatedly denying that he lost this election, the admission seemed noteworthy.

Twitter promptly slapped another warning label on the tweet, which reads "This claim about election fraud is disputed." He also shared a tweet inside his tweet that had previously been flagged for the same reason. But a number of people had already screenshotted and edited the president's admission, joking that it's the closest thing we'll get to a Trump concession.

It wasn't long before #TrumpConceded and HE WON were trending on Twitter and timelines were flooded with jokes like these.

Trump must have realized that he accidentally conceded the election on Twitter, because shortly after the tweet started trending he fired off two more messages to clarify his feelings. The first tweet simply claimed the election was rigged once again, and in the second Trump said that Biden "only won in the eyes of the FAKE NEWS MEDIA" and that he concedes "NOTHING!"

Well, it was a nice few minutes of thinking the president was finally making a rational move, and that America's democracy might still be intact, and that we could finally move on. Wasn't it?

Back to our regularly scheduled political hellfest, I guess.
