You may have thought nothing in the world could ever be as mind-bendingly confusing as Donald Trump's tweets, but have you seen the dude's artwork?

There's abstract and then there's "what the hell is that?" We regret to inform America that Trump's hand-drawn masterpiece of (supposedly) the New York City skyline is most definitely the latter.

Nevertheless, after 11 bids, the U.S. President's amateur sketch —which naturally features Trump Tower at its center — sold at auction for a ridiculous amount of money.

Nate D. Sanders Auctions in Los Angeles set the starting bid for the 11.5 by 9 in. piece — originally drawn by the president for a 2005 charity event — at $9,000, but it wound up selling for a whopping $29,184.

Since this piece of art could easily be mistaken as something hanging on the refrigerator of proud parents of an elementary school child had Trump not signed it, we are left wondering two things:

  1. Who would dare pay this much?

  2. What even is this?

Here are a few other expert suggestions as to where Donald Trump could have been going with his artistic vision:

  • Giant metal robot hands flipping off the world

  • A gust of visible wind blowing past a giant movie theatre shaped like a colossal bag of popcorn

  • Drunk lego bricks perched atop Trump's hair

  • A moat around Trump Castle

  • A very troubling electrocardiogram

He's certainly no George W. Bush, but, you know, Trump ... you can't be great at everything.
