Trump claims drugs are cheaper than candy, Americans collectively facepalm

Today in things Donald Trump doesn't seem to understand: drugs and candy.

At a press conference on Friday afternoon, Trump took some time in between dissing the media to discuss a few of the problems facing America -- one of which, is the fact that drugs are apparently becoming cheaper than candy.

"We're becoming a drug-infested nation," Trump said. "Drugs are becoming cheaper than candy bars."

Lol, what??????

I mean, sure, candy is a bit pricy if you're going for the good stuff, but more expensive than drugs?

Where are you buying your candy, Trump?

Seriously, though. Some of CVS Pharmacy’s largest candy bars aren't more than $5.00. We checked:

• GIANT Hershey's Bar = $3.19

• Reese's XL Bar = $2.19

• Lindt's A Touch of Sea Salt Dark Chocolate Bar = $3.79

But more importantly, where the heck are you buying your drugs?

If Trump lives in our world, we're talking an average price of $320.66 for an ounce of high quality weed in the United States, according to the Price of Weed. If you don't mind settling for medium quality pot, you might be able to snag a gram for $30 in New York on a good day.

Perhaps Trump was referring to harder drugs? Nope, the average price of heroin in the United States is a steep $200 a gram. And according to the 2015 Global Drug Survey, the average price for a gram of cocaine in the United States is $62. So, if you're getting your drugs for a couple of bucks, we can promise it is either pure baking soda or really, really nasty poison.

It should go without saying the Twitter users had an unofficial "drugs are cheaper than candy" party at Trump's expense, and mercilessly mocked the leader of our nation for uttering an epically uninformed sentence.
