Emanuel Macron just owned Donald Trump in their ongoing handshake war

Reunited and it feels so awkward.

It's been a while, but Donald Trump and French president Emanuel Macron have still got it — their awkward as all holy hell handshakes, that is.

The two world leaders recently reunited at the White House and after a whole slew of awkward moments, including Trump brushing "dandruff" off Macron, they spoke together at a joint press conference on Tuesday.

And when it came time for their highly anticipated handshake, as with past awkward shakes, the men did not disappoint.

The two went in for the clutch, Trump gave an air smooch, they did a weird grabbing thing to incorporate all four hands, some back and forth action, a half-hug thing, a pat on the back, Trump gave a finger point, and then just a lot of overall body shaking. It was far from a normal handshake. As always.

After laugher from the audience, the two finally let go of each other's hands and Trump said, "I like him a lot."

But Macron, a master at the handshake game, wasn't about to let him have the final move, so he stuck his arm out and playfully hit Trump's arm.

Here it is in GIF form in case you want to torture yourself on a loop.

Lucky for us, when the press conference concluded there was another equally mortifying goodbye shake. Macron is out for blood, and after the final shoulder grab it's clear he won this round.

Will this awkward tension ever end? Will there one day be a handshake champ crowned? Only time will tell.
