Donald Trump tells Fox he wants his 'people' to 'sit up at attention' the way Kim Jong-un's do

Then he claimed he was being sarcastic.

Happy Friday, everyone!

Donald Trump just dropped in on his pals at Fox & Friends to say he hopes that one day the American people will treat him like North Koreans treat Kim Jong-un. Cool, cool, cool. Not a single thing to worry about here.

Upon waking up, it seems Trump looked out the window, saw a Fox & Friends broadcast taking place on the White House lawn, and announced he was going to unexpectedly crash it via Twitter.

Then things got bad.

When asked about his relationship with the North Korean dictator (with whom he claimed multiple times during the interview to have "good chemistry") Trump said: "Hey! He's is the head of a country, I mean he is the strong head. Don't let anyone think anything different. He speaks and his people sit up at attention. I want my people to do the same."

Hmmmm...sounds like a super dictator-like thing for the president of the United States to say about his "people," don't you think?

According to follow up reports, CNN White House Correspondent Jeff Zeleny said that when Trump was asked about the comments made to Fox & Friends, Trump said, "I'm kidding. You don't understand sarcasm."

Fan-fucking-tastic. Americans should feel great about this joke! (This is sarcasm, for the many who Trump feels do not understand it.)

Trump also implied that Kim did more than simply fire his top generals, but did not address the controversial salute he exchanged with a North Korean general while in Singapore — an action that's often viewed as a sign of respect.

Failed sarcasm or not, let's all take some time today to reflect on the fact that the president said he wants the American people to "sit up at attention" the way he claims North Koreans do for Kim.
