The internet roasts a photo of Donald Trump writing his inauguration speech

When times get tough, at least you can still meme.

President-elect Donald Trump is slated to deliver his inauguration address on Friday, so he teased his Twitter followers with a little behind-the-scenes photo of himself writing a speech at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida.

The staged photo and Trump's cold, dead gaze sent the internet straight into "meme mode alpha," where it was pointed out that Trump was actually holding Sharpie marker, which may or may not actually be closed.

According to CNN, Trump did write his inauguration speech himself.
