The frenetic multiplayer gameplay we see in this new trailer harkens back to classic, twitchy shooters like Quake 3 and Unreal Tournament '99. The demon-spawning featured in the trailer is part of just one of the more non-traditional game modes, where you summon a pentagram to transform into a monster.
For players interested in testing out Doom's multiplayer, there will be a closed beta available to those who pre-ordered Wolfenstein: The New Order in 2014. The beta runs from March 31 through April 3, and more details can be found here.
Doom will launch on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on May 13.
