Drake gave a shout out to 'Degrassi' at the AMAs because America needed something nice

Wildly popular Canadian rapper Drake picked up the American Music Award for Favorite Rap/Hip-Hop album and gave a shoutout to his old fictional high school while accepting the award from former co-star, Nina Dobrev.

"Me and Nina were on Degrassi together, by the way, we've come a long way," Aubrey Drake Graham told the potentially uniformed Americans whose life may not have been enriched by the Canadian teen soap (yet).
